Partnership Officer (Esk & Coastal Streams)
Helmsley
Partnership Officer (Esk & Coastal Streams).
Based at Helmsley or Danby, North Yorkshire.
The North York Moors National Park Authority looks after and promotes one of the most phenomenal parts of the British Isles. Filled with breath-taking scenery, magnificent wildlife, picture book villages and a dramatic coastline, the North York Moors boasts some of the most diverse landscapes in the UK.
The River Esk emerges in the north of the National Park and flows through a patchwork of heather moorland, mixed woodland and farmland before meeting the sea at Whitby estuary. The catchment also encompasses multiple coastal streams including Sandsend, Eastrow and Staithes Beck. The Esk is North Yorkshire’s only principal Atlantic salmon river and, crucially, supports a small and endangered population of freshwater pearl mussels – the last remaining in Yorkshire and a big focus for the catchment. We are working to restore and protect habitats, reunite the river and people and work with key organisations, groups and people, combining our expertise and resources to restore the River Esk and coastal streams.
We are now looking for a Partnership Officer to join us in support of work on the River Esk and coastal streams on a full-time basis, working 37 hours per week for a fixed term contract until 30 September 2029.

- Local Government Pension Scheme
